People Who Smoke

Everyday, someone, somewhere on Earth is smoking a cigarette. This is a world wide issue. Even though government knows that smoking does cause cancer so why do political parties turn blind and deaf when someone tries to ban tobacco? Even in Maples from 1600 students probably 400 students probably smoke cigarette and it really makes me mad when someone smokes it right on my face when i come to school and if smoking in young people and older citizens keep growing like this the world with the population of 6 billion will have atleast 2 billion people diagnosed with cancer or other kind of breathing problems.
Since i walk to school eveyday i go through the smoking area to go to my locker and my biology class.all the students who smoke are there 24/7and smoke probably a pack a day and the number will probably go up as high as 9.as well all now that cigarette have tar and nicotine .nicotine is the reason why they get addicted. when student smoke the smell enter the building when the door opens up.the smell also enters the people's lungs when they are going by the area or even inside the school.the second example s at the Seven Oaks Hospital when i was returning from volunteering and this old lady who was a patient told me to take her outside because she was on wheelchair,i took her outside and i went inside to wait ,after a while my ride came and i went outside and the same lady was smoking cigarette, she offered me to smoke thinking i was in the legal age.i replied saying "No"
I have not addressed anyone but i am really thinking of sending a letter to the prime minsiter Stephen Harper about banning ciagarret and tobacco use in canada because i want to live in a smoke free world with no tobaco use or cigarettes , but i i think stephen harper won't give a s*it about my letter because it take a group of people to change the world.
Most of the people are forced into this bad habit because of peer pressureand like the most of the drugs ,this drug is addicting and one hard habit to rehab from or even quit.most of the smokers try quiting but nicorrette kills brains cells and tells the brain to smoke and want that feeling more and more.some people can quit and it is never too late. i kno that Mr.Buffie quit smoking when he was 24,now he is living a smoke free life and he has less risk of cancer or other breathing problems.
Factors that can help people quit this bad habit of smoking are nicorette enhaler and patches which help stp the craving of a cigarette and you can go to stop smoking classes where people try to learn how to quit smoking.this may sound pretty easy to do but only some lucky people can qiut .the things i want is government to improve the facility to the citizen to quit smoking and teach them about the dangers of smoking.

  6. It's really good that you want to take the initiative to address the issue by possibly sending a letter to Stephen Harper. There wasn't much to edit, although there were a few sentences that didn't start with capital letters. Other than that, your blog post was really informative !

  7. Smoking is a stress reliever. To all the people who don't know, if you've smoked for a number of years, and try to go mo than 4 hours without you, you'll most likely want to punch everyone in the face, the anxiety that it brinGs is ridiculous. It literally feels like someone is sitting on your chest. It gets tight, your eyes burn and you just feel mad. So don't sit there judging like it's terrible. It's not a good thing. But it's ridiculously hard to stop. ItS pretty much as hard as trying to stay awake for a long time. It's nopt easy.

  8. I personally think who ever smokes is their own choice and everyone has their own opinion on smoking.

  10. I agree with kelly. Smoking is a choice, but once started is difficult to stop. It's an addiction just like any other drug. You can't just stop. It takes time and help to fully end the addiction.

  16. I agree with you, and I too don't like it when people smoke. It really, really irritates me.

However, people are entitled to do whatever they want to do with their life, and it is their choice as to whether or not they smoke. I guess it is a good thing that you want to take the initiative by sending a letter to Harper, but, to ban smoking from all of Canada? I don't think that'd work out well, sorry... Maybe if you tried to suggest places where people should not smoke instead of just saying there should not be smoking in Canada. Period. While there are a number of people who agree, there is sure to be a number of people who disagree. In addition, people who have been smoking for a long time are shown to become dependent on tobacco. Trying to make someone who smokes stop completely won't work; it takes time. So maybe try thinking about this on a smaller scale. It is CANADA you're talking about...
