Smokers

Last year was walking with my friends, we came across a group of guys smoking cigarettes. They offered us cigarettes saying that it is good and addictive. Yes, we already know that it is addictive but saying that it is good? I don't think so. We manage to get away from the smokers but the smell of the cigar smoke is still stuck a my nose. When I was about 6 years old, I had a history of tuberculosis. Everyday of my life at that time was hard. I was coughing every time. Why do people smoke anyways knowing that it doesn't do any good to them? Do they really like flirting with death? Do they think that it makes them cool? There really has to be a reason why "adults" go to the store buy a pack of cigarettes, extract one and lit it up. Speaking of smoking: It takes 4 years to make a full recovery when your addicted to smoking. In that 4 years, you will be in and out of the hospital. Taking x-rays of your lungs and making sure that you're not smoking anymore. In the process of trying to make a recovery from smoking you will be struggling not to smoke the "stick of death" that you're addicted to. Smoking is absolutley pointless and doesn't do anything to you. The government should just ban smoking because it doesn't only affects the user,it affects everyone around him/her too.

Hipsters and the World Through my Eyes

Every decade and time frame has had their standard of what is considered cool. For instance, the 70's owned bell bottom jeans and leather jackets while the 90's produced the punk and grunge scene. Sadly, I personally distaste what my generation (90's children) has decided is cool. The 2000's have severly made me lose hope in humanity for the most part because of "hipsters".
A hipster, as they are called, is an individual who can be widely familiarized with sagging pants, SnapBack hats, and in most cases, blairs their music for everyone to hear. These are all the pet leaves rolled into one person in my opinion. Today's hipsters have really brought on an unwanted fashion in today's which can be summed up in one word;Stupid!
Breaking it down we can see that no one ever wants to see another person's underwear WHILE they're wearing pants. Other annoyances about dress code can be described as wannabe LA gang scene gone really sour. Simply, the solution is to dress like a civilized human being and be yourself and not what 50 cent looked like on his new album cover.
Sadly, this is not the biggest problem. The mindset and dialog of these people is the real head-turner. About a few days ago, I was walking through the hallways of school by a group of these self proclaimed "hipsters". As I made my approach, the boys in saggy pants and flat brimmed hats very openly and vulgarly explained how he had so much "swag" that he can get girls as if he were referring women as a sport's trophy. It seems as if treating girls like an inanimate object prize is ok, especially when there's more than one "trophy" being won at a time. It's not only degrading to the multiple girls but also to yourself making you look like (for lack of a better word) and idiot.
I also find funny how they like to be rude and pick on others because they're not as cool as them. All I can say to that, and the story about the girls, is to treat everyone the way you wish to be treated. If you treat people as if they aren't worth the time of day, expect the same from me and don't seem surprised either.
So next time you think about dressing like jailbait and putting people down for no apparent reason, just remember that no one likes it and it'll embarrass you more than the people around you. So pick up your pants and learn some manners and respect for people!!!

People That Smoke Inside Bus Stop Sheds

If you take the bus to school or going home from school you’ll probably have a higher chance of experiencing this. I’m talking about people who smoke inside the bus stop sheds. If you have experienced this before, you would know that it is not only annoying but it is also bad for your health. I remember when I learned in school that the people around the person who smokes, when they inhale this smoke it would have a worst effect on you rather than the person smoking himself. So imagine how small the waiting sheds on the bus stops are, then add a person smoking a cigarette inside of that shed. Every time that person exhales you see that shed slowly filling up with smoke from the cigarette. Then now add a few people inside the shed who could not do anything about it. If you were inside that shed what would you feel, some people would say that just try to avoid them and don’t go inside the shed. Yes that is one of the things that you could do but what if it was -25 outside and the wind outside was blowing like crazy and you are freezing and it would feel a lot better if you go inside the waiting shed, but there is a person smoking inside but you have to just go with it because you would freeze if you stay outside.

One thing that we could do is talk or tell the person to stop smoking. Some people would stop, but some would probably just ignore you or give you a dirty look. Others will think you’re rude no matter how polite you say it. You will probably hear them tell you to mind your own business. The sad thing is the person who does this the most are the elders who are in working age. If you think about it they are the ones who are suppose to be our role models, but instead they are giving us the idea to smoke. No wonder every year more and more people at such a young age.

So next time you encounter these kind of people just try to avoid them. And when you really just have to tell them just man up and say it right in their place and show them the sign on the glass sides of the waiting shed. But don’t be rude and never swear or say anything personal because not only you would cause trouble for yourself but you can also get others involved, just ask them as nice/ kind as possible even though your blood is boiling inside.

One thing that I also hate from my personal experiences, this happened several times during the winter time. These people would smoke outside the shed which was good news but the thing I hate is that when they take their last puff of their cigarette they go inside the waiting shed but they sometimes blow the smoke inside the waiting shed or sometimes they blow it while facing the waiting shed and while coming towards it. So the people inside the waiting shed will also start smelling like smoke. The bad thing to is the smell of the smoke stays inside the waiting shed for quite awhile and the clothes of the people inside start smelling like cigarettes too.

So I am encouraging everyone to not smoke and also encourage your friends to not smoke and if they already, try to make them stop or quit smoking. Not only is smoking bad for you and your body but you are also affecting other people’s health. Also if you have parents or siblings that smoke educate them about the bad effects of smoking so that hopefully they would stop doing it. I consider myself very lucky because I don’t have any siblings and my parents also does not smoke which is very good because I thought to myself that if my parents made it through life without smoking then why should I. So reject if anyone is offering you a smoke. And they should make a rule that you can’t smoke inside school property and you will be fined if you get caught.

The Double Standard

I try to not let many things get to me, but one huge thing that really gets under my skin is the Double Standard between Men and Women. Since the beginning of time men have always acted superior over women, and no matter how much women change, the double standard is always maintained. It feels like we are back in the Medieval Times when men tell women to "get back in the kitchen". This state of mind is offensive, ignorant and so widely used that it is crazy.
I was talking to a good friend of mine, who happens to be a boy. Now he has not had the best past with relationships, in other words he is very promiscuous. I found it extremely surprising that he was bad mouthing a girl who is equally as promiscuous as he is. If he had the right to act promiscuous so did the other girl, but in his words "her behavior was disgusting". It's like the lock and key analogy, the lock being the girl and the key being the boy. The lock is considered a bad lock if multiple keys try and fail to open it, however the key is considered good if it opens multiple locks. Any girl has the right to act the same way a guy does, and a guy should be judged in the same way a girl is.
I personally have tried to convince guys of this, but they just do not seem to listen. Usually what happens is that I explain that women and men are both equals and should be judged as such. What usually is the response is that women are not in the same level as men, therefore, they get treated differently in certain situations. Other times I don't even bother to say a thing because I know that all that will happen is a huge fight and the men will usually get very defensive. It is very hard to try and explain this situation to people (men) when their thoughts are from the 1950's and not present day.
I feel that some men engage in this behavior just to make their actions justifiable. They want an excuse tonact a certain way and get away with it. They do not want any competition or anything to stop them. I honestly feel that the people who contribute to this double standard do not even think of the people it effects. Lie my friend, since it is not him being judged he doesn't care. However since he is not treated unfairly, it does not occur to him the consequences of his words. It is an old way of thinking that seem to never go away.
The double standard definitely comes from the past where women were constantly treated unequally. This attitude towards women has had to been passed down from parents to kids. Now that women are becoming more and more equal to me this attitude should be different. Sadly it is not. The obvious way that people can stop this double standard is to either live through it, somehow be effect by it, or by actually understanding the situation rather than brushing it under the rug. Society has come a long way from it's ancient thoughts, so the next step Should definitely be to get over this double standard. It is not cool to degrade women, it is ignorant, so stop.

People Who Smoke

People who smoke really irritate me because for one they polute the world and two nobody wants to smell that nasty smoke that can do damage to you because second hand smoking is worse then actually smoking itself. People who smoke are just throwing there lives away because some of them would rather smoke then eat.

I went to a store with my friends mom and she only had 15 dollars so instead of buying food for the house she bought cigarettes for herself. Another time we were watching T.V. and one of those commercials explaining how smoking is bad for you, then she started freaking out saying that it's not bad for you at all. I have never addressed Her because she isn't my mom and I'm not over there enough to say anything. I'm assuming she started smoking when she was in school because of the whole peer pressure and her friends saying "try it it's cool" but I'm not sure, I'm pretty sure she's aware that it bothers other people but I think she just doesn't care.

It's not so much a behavior it's just people do it and they feel the need to do it like an addiction. Well some of them try to quit and some of them actually do quit,as others don't think theres anything wrong with smoking

Some people are really rude while there smoking. I mean are you really to lazy to through you're butts in the garbage, sometimes when they haven't had a smoke in awhile they get really angrey and cranky so they hurt the ones they love.

now adays people start smoking at a really young age and continue for many years which makes it harder to quit later on down the road. Smoking kills a bunch of people every year and the people who smoke don't seem to carethey just keep on smoking like it wont kill them, but it can happen nobody can avoid it and thats what bugs me the most about people who smoke because so many of them have died and will die from smoking. My opinion about smoking is that it's nasty and disgusting and if u smoke i don't want you near me because i dont want to smell you. Please don't start smoking and if you already do then please stop.

Facebook Like *Thumbs up*

Something that really irks me is people who post something that no one will care about. Then after few seconds the person who posted the status or picture will like it. Why would your own status/picture? Of course you like it, we all know you like it, that why you posted it in the first place. But it’s like you’re giving yourself a high five in public or saying “good job” to yourself when you did something awesome. Sometimes it’s just funny when you like your own status and no one like your post except for you.

I think that was last week when a girl posted a picture of herself. She liked her own picture, then after few seconds, she messaged me saying “Hey, like my picture. Please.” That was absolutely irritating. If I really like your picture, you don’t have to tell me to like it. I would’ve like it before you told me if i find it interesting, cute or any reason to like your picture. You don’t have to ask for likes, you earn it. It’s still better if your friends like your status/picture without telling then to do it. Just let them do it because it means they can relate to it, find it funny, or interesting. I didn’t tell her what was in my mind. I turned off my chat because I don’t want to argue with her. It’s not my place to tell someone to stop what they’re doing. I guess she burst into happiness when she got tons of like. I didn’t know what to say. It was something I couldn't handle.

I don’t really know why people act like this. I guess if they gained lots of likes, they’ll think they’re famous, cool, popular, or one gorgeous guy/girl. I think they are not aware that this behaviour really bothers some people. Yet they continue to do it. The factors that might foster this behaviour are the willingness to fit in the urge to feel better about their self. You can’ really stop people from doing this. It’s up to them if they want to stop this kind of behaviour.

People who give up on things easily

People who don't give in effort in trying. I hate seeing people giving up easily, are the ones that really annoy me. you cant just give up like that. if its something you like you should at least go out there and give it a try.

A really close friend of mine tried out for the team for JV basketball team.. He came to every practice, every drill. Eventually he got tired of doing all that. My friends name was justin. one time during practice, Justin went up to the coach and told him he wants to quit playing and joining drills the team does. Coach asked him why he wants to quit playing. Justin Respond back by saying, because his getting tired of doing the warm-ups and drills. He wants to get straight in the games and play. And he complained that in games he doesn't get enough playing time. Coach after listening to him, he told him its his own decision if he wants to be on the team or not on the team. Its not a force. In every sport there's always got to have alot of drills involve.

I'm that kid that doesn't give up on myself easily, never will be. so for me to help a friend out, I advised him to not quit the team. I'v known Justin since we were in elementary school. We went to Frontenac School. For high school we went to Windsor Park. We both tried out for the team. I'm always motivating myself to get better in playing sports, especially the game of basketball. Me as a good friend, I helped Justin to have more confidence in himself. Not to give up easily. Have more believe in yourself in what you're doing. If you set your mind into something you love, you shouldn't have a hard time focusing.

sometime people just feel like they have the need to just quit like that. For me it never works that way. I help justin to have a little more confidence in himself. gie it try and see how its like. Like MJ said ''Practice makes perfect'' never give up on yourself. work hard, show interest and you'll do fine.

Reckless with others can result in someone else being reckless with you!

Now, I'm not going to go in great detail over behind-the-wheel drug abuse only because of how many other times its been discussed over the internet. But Texting, talking on your cellphone and/or listening to loud music can serve just as harmful.. well, sort of. Think of it like this. Someone is Texting on their cellphone and is in a rush. on the left turn lane there's another person listening to music so loud that the driver might as well be incoherent to sound, also the driver is Texting. Now let's say Guy#1 Texting had gone ahead but soon after realized it wasn't his turn to accelerate forward. meanwhile Guy#2 Oblivious to the situation, he had also begun accelerating because last the driver checked it was his turn. Going back to Guy#1 gets stuck in a random out of the blue pothole. Guy#1 honks for his dear safety. Yet in turn, doesn't get any recognition of the other drivers awareness due to the blazing music and the Texting. Next thing you know Injuries occur, car expenses pop up, or even worse, Death (although unlikely at low speeds). Now if both of them had been more aware. they would have avoided the crash in at least 3 different ways on the top of my head right now. Car#1 wouldn't have gone off and accelerated at all if he had already noticed it wasn't his turn to drive forward. Car#1 yet again could have also avoided the pothole and dodged around it if he was wary. Car#2 would have stopped way before impact.

as a disclaimer though. what you're reading is nothing of any professional advice (although it would be cool to think so.) It's just my personal opinion. also, my brain can act a bit pessimistic as so to see the worst in a harmful situation. If I lack any creativity or clearness in my main points, It's probably because I feel little to no creativity right now, but I'll manage and do my best. Does this irk you that I relay this from my head? whoops. Also, don't feel like this is directed to any of you reading this, I just like to type things out as if I were to talk out against someone committing to my irking pains. Feel free to enjoy, don't be afraid to comment and let me know if I need improvement on anything, feedback helps out.

I also very much find it disrespectful when someone is for example. Walking across the street when a driver nearly pumps into said person walking, said person walking proceeds to advise the driver to discontinuing said driver's texting, listening to loud music or talking on their cellphone, whatever the cause of distraction may have been. Driver gets upset and replys with a few rude remarks. Like as if the driver thought he/she was doing more good over the bad. I mean, appreciate the fact that the person walking didn't blow up on the driver and started swearing like a mad scientist. The person walking could have easily and well have been ten times more angry, but no, the person decided to give a friendly advice and gets a rude remark back from the driver who nearly HIT said walker. Irking, isn't it? well, It irks me and thats the purpose of this post. Remember? Right.

Texting, listening to loud music or talking on the cellphone actually does show a remarkably high difference in the way a driver performs his/her task. I've experienced a small degree of this at first hand when someone I knew was driving and decided to text that certain person's friend. Far from anything dangerous because it was only a single text or two. But I'll continue to make my point. You can just tell that there's a sudden difference in the driving patterns, slowing down, slightly turning direction and so on. It takes them longer to text because of those few short seconds it takes to submit that new text key letter. it distracts totally from the driver purely concentrating on driving as a priority.

Ways to prevent are simple and straight forward. Stop to the side of the road while texting, listen to music more softly. Use an earpiece or some form of audio output to listen to the person talking to you over the cellphone. I mean, it's all pretty easy. yet textboard-warriors arise from their seats and abruptly say, " but It's for convenience sake! " Well, no. It's more convenient for the driver to pull over and make the text really fast rather than taking those three second interval's per letter and risk contact in a crash. listening to music softly will also benefit by keeping you from going deaf too soon. Talking with an earpiece keeps both hands on the wheel like ALL drivers are instructed to do ALWAYS.

Coughing

366 • 37 • *Cough* When people refuse to cover their mouths when they cough, you can be assured that you will see me diving for cover as if I were being shot. I am not really a germaphobe but for some reason coughing and sneezing really grosses me out. One time I was sitting having a conversation with a bunch of friends when one started to cough. He did not make any attemp whatsoever to block his coughing fit or angle his mouth away from everyones faces. Nobody said anything except for me. I hid my face in my arm and when he was done I yelled at him. I don't think people intentionaly disregard covering their mouths, I think it is just a bad habit or bad manners. Informing people that coughing without covering your mouth can spread germs and sickness would reduce sickness overall.

Stop Making Fun Of People

Did anybody make fun of you? How did you feel? People should not make fun of other people. When people make fun of me, I really feel bad because it hurts me a lot. It affects others negatively. This really irks me because nobody should hurt others by making fun of them. In fact, they should know that this would affect others' mind and heart badly.

Once upon a time, in my school a girl slipped and fell down the stairs. The stairs were wet and slippery because it was raining heavily outside and when people came inside, they were wet because of their wet clothes, shoes etc. When the girl slipped down the stairs, some people started making fun of her. They were saying, “Can’t you walk slowly? Can’t you see these slippery stairs? Are you blind?” They started laughing, giggling and clapping, but nobody tried to inquire about the girl's health. She couldn't even stand on her own. Then someone informed the teachers about this. So, they helped her to stand up and called an ambulance to take her to the hospital. The doctors said," The girl's right ankle is broken and she can't pressure it." So, she became handicapped. After few days, when she came back to school, some people still made fun of her.

I have never addressed those people doing this thing directly because they are much mocked people. If somebody tries to address them, then they don't even spare him/her. That's why I ignore them although I get hurt but what can I do. They are very wicked and bad people and I feel a bit scared that if I try to stop them, then they would harm me.

There are some reasons why people engage in this behaviour because they enjoy seeing other people getting hurt. In fact, they don't have too much knowledge about how to behave with others. They don't even listen to anyone such as parents, relatives or friends etc. Some of those people have enough money and they don't need to work. They think that they have the right to make fun of everyone. Some of them do not have money and they do not even want earn money with their hard work. Sometimes they threat other people and try to snatch their money or other valuable things by making fun of them.

I don't think that we can change such people. But at least we can try. First, we can ask them mannerly and in a simple way to stop making fun of others. But if they don't stop, then we should take some strict action or step. We should warn them but if they still don't stop then we should call the police. I firmly request such people that they should not "MAKE FUN OF OTHER PEOPLE."

Stinky people, get your act together!

Stinky people! Are you even aware that you stink? And I'm not kidding, this is a serious question because all of the people around you are completely aware that you do. How hard is it to shower everyday or even use a deodorant? Deodorant costs like $3 and soap costs less so why is it so hard to smell good and have proper hygiene? Showering doesn't even have to take that much time off of your day so I cannot see how it's a hard task to do.

This matter irks me a lot because I cannot find a decent reason why you can't smell fresh. I mean if you can afford to have food, buy new clothing, and to have the latest gadgets, why can't you buy a simple bar of soap or a shampoo bottle? But I know that some people actually cannot even afford certain everyday necessities and that's to be accepted if they don't smell as good. But I know a lot of people who are really capable of affording, technically everything they want and still smell like crap. And the fact that they don't even seem insecure about it at all also bugs me. Can't you not tell that you need a bath? How could you look so confident and be full of yourself when you don't even smell good?

I'm not trying to be rude or anything but smelling fresh and being clean is what our parents have been teaching us ever since we were young. When we were still babies, our parents would change our diapers, bathe us everyday and my parents even put some fancy lotion on me to make my skin smooth. Now as a grown person, it is expected for us to do all of these things ourselves. People shouldn't even have to remind you to shower because everybody does it and it should already be a part of your daily routine.

This one time at school in one of my classes, one of my classmate sat beside me and the stench was so strong that it gave me a headache. He was an athletic young man, one of our school's finest athletes. I couldn't even focus on what the teacher was talking about because all I could think of was how to not breathe in this stench. I wanted to ask him so bad on why he didn't choose to put deodorant on before the class started but I was afraid that he'd make a big deal out of it. He also seemed like he didn't even know the fact that he smelled bad and seemed so normal and confident about himself. But that's not the only thing that bugged me. The fact that everyone seemed to stare at me and started to think that it was me that stank just made my blood boil. For the next few classes, I had to prove to everybody that it wasn't me who stank that day and I never sat beside that person ever again.

All of that being said, I do not mean to offend anyone. I'm just here to let out my voice to hopefully reach the right people. If you have a real good reason why you should stay unhygienic, please do tell me and enlighten me because unless you're really incapable of affording hygienic materials, I do not see why you can't even try to smell fresh. And if you do feel offended about this, let me just say that you must be the person that reeks in the first place. There should not be any other reason why you should feel offended unless you're the one who stinks. Just please take a shower for the sake of all us!

The tissue paper

why are some student so irresponsible in even a small thing there are a few things i find most disturbing to some are not or just indifferent or insensitive to some eye distracting. every day I go to school and there are only three important places I consider you wouldn't be able to avoid coming in. first, of course our classroom, second the cafeteria and the third, would be the wash room.

I cant help my self not bothered and get annoyed by those eye sore i mean, the mess caused by the scattered pieces of toilet paper and this is really annoying. there are some student who couldn't careless being responsible enough in. the use of the toilet paper in the wash room. to me, it is very obvious that some students are deliberately squandering one of school's resources the toilet paper. these resources are bought using lots of dollars.

To waste these seemingly insignificant resource of the school is a glaring show of irresponsibility. toilet papers come from trees and to waste a lot of these means to cut more trees which will in effect cause damage to our environment.

I haven't seen somebody directly doing this not so good behaviour perhaps they never really intended to caught and seen by those who would care enough. but mind you this, try to minimize as much as I can the use of excessive rolls of tissue paper. enough is just enough, I do even remind my friends to do exactly what I do or some sort be a role model to them.

as the sating that goes "education begins at home", children should be taught how to conserve precious resources. be it paper, water, electricity, ect. responsible behaviour is the name of the game. what may constitute to discourage this behaviour? let there be a campaign by some concerned student that would strike awareness. the school I think should consider employing a strict policy against wanton waste of the school precious resources.

Excessive Tweets And Updates

It is said that everyday on average 190 million tweets are sent out on twitter. A lot of people don't realize how big social media has gotten in the past decade. Especially for a teenager like me , we realize that social media is an everyday habit. Some teenagers on the other hand abuse the use of twitter or in fact any social networking site. They overly update/tweet useless things that we don't really need to know about.

Everyday I encounter utterly stupid and pointless tweets.I would be scrolling down my timeline and see tweets like " I'm sitting on the toilet, someone text me..I'm bored". No one needs to know that you're doing your business on the toilet, and especially if you're wanting someones to text you just because you're bored. These people are also the ones who are constantly tweeting and updating statuses. I admit I do tweet nonsense things sometimes but, not to the point where it gets annoying. Oppose to the people who do it all the time; all you want to say is " I DON'T CARE !!" There are other times where I see people tweet their number. I don't think that you want to have a bunch of random people/strangers calling or texting you. Some people just don't think about what they tweet.

There are certain times that I come across situations where people are depressed, or they are going through something really tough. It makes you pity them but at the same time it's something that shouldn't even be put in public like that. Most of the time it's constant tweet after tweet that sooner it affects your own feelings. So, how does telling everyone benefit you?

I personally haven’t confronted anyone about this pet peeve of mine because I know they would say “I can post or tweet about anything because it’s my account” or “There’s the unfollow button, if you don’t like what I tweet then why don’t you just unfollow me”. The majority of people always do this, so why bother trying to tell them to stop when it’s the so called “Hype”. I think a resolution for this is to get back to reality and take a break from social networking for a while. In all honestly, I don’t really think that this is a huge problem. I just want to address this to people, and let them know that some things are worth to be put out there for others to read about. So just calm down with your nonsense and constant tweets. We all get IT!

people who mis-use the bathroom/washroom.

Waking up to a crucial pain in my lower abdomen, my body let's me know that I need to go to the bathroom. Half asleep I walk into the bathroom and sit on the toilet. *splash* I came to a realization that I fell into the toilet. Have you ever experience falling into the toilet because someone didn't put toilet seat down? Well, it has happened to me several times.

My biggest pet peeve is when someone mis-uses the bathroom/washroom. People don't realize how the little things like not flushing or leaving toilet paper on the floor can be disgusting to another person. The other day I really needed to go to the washroom.I went into the first stall I saw open. Once I got in, I saw a bunch of toilet paper left in the toilet. In my perspective I thought that was disgusting. I honestly don't get why people can't take time to flush the toilet. It'll only take at least 5 seconds. Just flush it!

Also,it's amazing to think how unsanitary a bathroom/washroom can be. It's even funnier how people choose to make it more unhygienic. I came across a situation with my brother where whenever he brushes his teeth he doesn't clean up after himself. therefore when i go into the bathroom i see toothpaste bits all over the sink. This leaves me with the responsibility to clean after him and myself. Like I always do. Someone once told me that whenever you flush the toilet a water droplet from the toilet falls to the ground. So, whenever a water droplet from the toilet falls, it can contaminate the are with tons of germs. Now constantly falling into the a toilet filled with germs is definitely not amusing. To think that a person would rather let someone fall into a toilet filled with germ instead of putting down the toilet seat, it's very SAD.

The thought of someone leaving the bathroom/washroom without cleaning up after themselves or flushing the toilet makes me queasy. It's just like seeing dried up blood on the side of the sink when you go to wash your hands. Makes you uncomfortable and not want to wash your hands in that sink anymore. The thoughts that go through my mind are how can i wash my hands in a contaminated sink?

It's understandable that some people are unaware of the fact that they do these things. Except, constantly doing these things over and over in my point of view it's just unacceptable. I think that people do this because they're just lazy. Everyone has those days where they're just lazy. Four o'clock in the morning going to the bathroom to pee, i rather go to bed then flush the toilet. Although it may seem okay, it really isn't. Some ways you can avoid this is by having constant reminders to clean up after yourself. Having signs or catchy picture by the toilet can remind you to always flush. Even having your parents remind you to take the time to clean your bathroom. Admitting the fact that you are this type of person is the start to being on the right track of being more sanitary.

Over Confident People

Over Confident People really annoys me because why would you even show off a lot when you're not that great at something? You will look stupid and embarrassing to look at. Especially when it's so noticeable! And if you're doing this to get girls, you're doing a bad job. Maybe some girls will like you because you're "Good at everything", it will probably not last long. Same goes to girls, don't even try to look noticeable to all the guys because some of them will think you're so cocky that the guy doesn't even want to date you. Talking about how good you are and showing it off to people then finding out how you suck at something so bad, you would be embarrassing for yourself. If you keep telling people that you'll beat them at something over and over again, they will get really annoyed. So this is the reason why this annoys me so much.

When I went to a track and meet, I would always hear my friend talking to other people about how he'll beat other guys in other races since he had a better time and I could see people from track that looked so cocky too, erg so annoying! My other friend didn't go to practices because he's already "good", he didn't need to train more. I think that's pretty stupid because people will eventually beat you and now you're screwed. You will probably regret not training and it will be probably hard for you to be faster than everyone. My other example is when a person told everyone that he was moving to another school and that this certain team at school would suck since he was going to move to another school. Now that I saw him still in the same school as me, It feels like he just wanted attention and It feels like some people didn't even care that he was moving.

When these people didn't stop, I didn't want to hear it anymore. I just said to myself "Stop bragging about how good you are, we don't care, you're so annoying! We don't care that you're moving to another school and how some certain team won't be good anymore since you're moving to another school. Maybe some people are happy that you're moving so they wont be hearing from you anymore." I didn't want to say anything to them even thought It annoys me a lot because I feel so mean If I tell them that they're so cocky.

People probably act this way because they are so confident for themselves that they brag about it so much. Some of them act like they own the world just because they are rich, stylish, and good looking. But that doesn't mean they should treat anyone like dirt. Some people would even say "You can't be me so don't even try" "I can get anyone I want." Those are pretty annoying because we all know everyone can't get anyone they want to date. And we also know we can't be the same as everyone. Some cocky people don't even notice they are annoying others or that they brag about everything they're "good at." Even some of them don't even know they're cocky. Maybe because they do it so much, its a habit.

I can't really do anything about it because I don't want to be rude to all the cocky people. You can't change people just because they annoy you so much, Its a part of their personality. Telling someone to change for someone is rude because people can be whatever or whoever they want to be, its their choice. People can't even change if someone else asks them to change.

NEW iPhone?!

*Ba-dum* What’s that you ask? It would be the constant ring tone that has been going on since the release of iPhones and other types of fancy phones. I think people should lessen their “quality time” with their phone while hanging out with their friends. What I mean by quality time is the constant check on tweets and status updates. It sends your friend a message that says, “Hey, I’ll pay more attention to you, but only once you start growing buttons and get more high-tech.” It really bothers me because sometimes they don’t listen while the other person is talking, and just replies something along the lines of “Umm… What?” when they happen to ask for an opinion. Wouldn't you feel the rejection of your friend from that? The phone will not vanish through thin air like Houdini. I’m sure you can risk taking your eyes off of it once in a while.

One day, while I was bored in class i decided to scan the room, while doing so, I noticed these people talking to each other. Surprise… surprise, mid conversation one of them decides to pull out their phone. As the other person was talking, the other was off in their own little techno world ignoring just about what their friend is talking about. Due to all their attention on the device, when it came to the time he needed to respond, he didn’t know what to say. His friend realizing that he wasn’t listening seemed pretty offended. I found that it was completely rude and inconsiderate of his friend’s feelings.

Though I think that this action is completely unnecessary, I don’t think I have ever directly confronted anyone about this behaviour. I have discussed it aloud in a general way, but I have never really addressed a person about the behaviour because it is partially intimidating to confront a friend about it.

I think people engage in this behaviour because many of us have become very dependent in technology and devices. I can personally say that I, myself, am very technology dependant, but that doesn’t mean that I agree with dedicating all my time on my phone while I'm with a friend, is okay. I think that everyone is partially, if not fully aware of their behaviour, but they don’t consider what others may possibly feel. They may just brush it off as a normal activity.

What I think may be the leading cause for this behaviour is social networking sites, and the constant releases of new technology and devices. For example: Facebook, Twitter, and devices such as the iPhone 5. One thing people could do to limit their use of technology is turning off the devices when hanging out with their friends. Another solution would be logging out of the sites that are constantly urging and taunting you to take out your phone and checking it every five seconds. I’m sure there are many ways to limit your use of technology. So, take your time and think about what your friends might be feeling when you’re “hanging out” with them, but spending more time and focus on your phone/device.

Those teacher that...

Teachers are meant to come to work, prepared to teach their students about the given subject. Unfortunately, some educators do not follow these basic rules. Some teachers and professors start the day with no instinct to teach! Have you ever experienced sitting in a class, listening to the educator and asking yourself, "what is he talking about?!" Isn't that just the worst feeling to get? Oh, and especially when you get homework on top of the crazy class?! That is when you start completely regretting this whole course!

When you sit in a conference room or a class, the educator is talking and talking and once again talking, while you just sit there taking notes like a solar powered robot not knowing what you're writing down. Let's talk science, for example physics class. You’re given equations and formulas and you have to solve it. Well how do you want me to solve something using a formula that I have never heard of before? I would not have an idea of what the letters stand for! It is pretty much like telling me to write a summary on a book that does not exist! That’s how I felt in that physics class!

The issue that doesn't allow us, students to do anything about those kind of problems is because students can't talk to a teacher and tell them they have to change their way of thought, as well as the way they teach a class! Some reasons for why we can't do that would be; they are our educators, it is not our place to tell them how they should teach. Another reason would be we are still minors, or even if we are over 18, we cannot tell older people what to do. All we can really do is hope that one day their behaviour and way of teaching changes fir the better.

My opinion on why teachers act this way is very simple; it is just the fact that they are not passionate enough about their job. They don’t feel the passion for standing in from of an audience, in this case, us, the students and lecturing about a certain topic. In my personal opinion I would much rather listen to a "robot" that teaches rather than a teacher that gets distracted onto complete non-sense. I also feel like sometimes I would much rather read a book, and learn from what I have read, as boring as that could get. When students get confused, the natural instinct we get is "OH NO! NOW I HAVE TO TEACH MYSELF BECAUSE I DO NOT GET IT!!!"

One way we could make life easier for both, us and the educators would be, if you’re not passionate about talking to group of people or get distracted very easily, why become a teacher? Students coming to class want someone who they can rely on and someone you build a trustful relationship with. I personally want to come to school, go to my classes and know that my teacher will teach me something and explain. Don’t you? Once a teacher is lost in his own lecture? The student will be lost through the whole unit, if not semester.

Honey, you swear too much!

Don't you feel irritated when someone is swearing? People who swears a lot never fails to irk me. I feel like they are swearing at me too. They think they're cool enough for saying those dirty words. Let me share my experience in this kind of behavior.

One time I was sitting on the bus, there were two teenagers behind my sit. They were talking to each other. They were too loud that it caught my attention and started listening to them. Every word that came out of their mouths had some bad words attached to it. In my opinion, you could say what you want without those words coming out of your own mouth. It just really irritates me. Like they don't have any respect for each other and to other people around them. I don't have the right to correct them because its their life. They can say what they want and do what they want. There is one thing that I was so curious about. What if their parents were upset because of them for some reason, do they actually swear at their parents? For me, these people who use filthy words for no reason and without any emotion to follow are not educated. Maybe because they think they're cool and becomes a habit for these people.

It annoyed me so, I just put my earphones and listened to the music instead of listening to them. I don't judge people so I just keep it to myself.

I think swearing starts off as a little bit of rebellion, as I said they may think they are cool or more grown up and becomes habit. Its ugly and unnecessary.

There are some factors to avoid those behavior. they need more attentions from their parents to teach them what is right and wrong. Me as a student, cannot stop them from doing this and that behavior. Its even worst if they got influenced by their parents.

Why swear if you can say something good?

Don't you feel like your ears are going to burst if you hear people swearing? Or does it irritate you or wanting to cover their mouths with some adhesive tape just to stop them from saying course languages? I mean it is not even an everyday word to use but it seems like its the only expression they know.

People who like swearing thinks it's cool but actually it's not. It only reduces the respect people have for them. It is disrespectful, immature and abrasive. What's worse, if you swear a lot, it can lead to violence. Profanity or swearing is not just expressed by word but also in "signs or poses". A lot of poses are invented nowadays and it includes raising their middle finger on pictures. Sometimes they do inappropriate poses.

I had a friend who migrated in the States, two years ago. She tried to fit in on her environment and wanted to change herself. She was so innocent before. Therefore, what she did was, she started swearing and being lazy. One time, she showed me a picture of her doing the 'bad sign' on facebook and she wanted me to 'like' her picture. I told her, why would I like it if there is nothing good on her picture. But instead, she told me that there's nothing wrong with it and it is just for fun.

After the experience I had, I started hating people who swears a lot. I go to school everyday and foul words are the first words you're going to hear. I know, when people get offended, they swear. Also, whenever they get startled or tripped, bad words are automatically coming out of their mouths. They should not list it on their vocabulary. They shouldn't make it as a habit. Why? because it is only a lazy use of language and people around them will feel uncomfortable.

Swearing is everywhere. It is not just in school, malls and in park. Like I said, EVERYWHERE. Can you imagine how people get influenced easily? They are influenced by their friends, the media, and the environment they live in. Or maybe there's just no one who could tell and correct their wrong behaviour. I cannot think a lot of ideas on how to change the bad attitudes they have. All I could recommend is to tell people around you to pick the "right friends" to hang out with. I am positively sure that they can be a good influence to you.

There is actually a saying that goes "Tell me who your friends are, and I will tell you who you are..."

A Bunch of DEAD Ears

Doesn't it piss you off when you realize you are having a one-sided conversation? It's like the words pouring out your mouth don't even reach the person, inches away from you. If that's the case, I'm 100% positive that he's a bad listener - a person with dead ears.

I seriously dislike these type of people. They make me feel that I am such a boring gal. What's worse, it seems like they don't care about me. Whenever I express my thoughts or my opinion, they suddenly shut down and seemed to be completely lost in la la land. Although they try their best to "fake listen", I'm still disappointed. The worst part is when they give you simple nods or say "oh" like they're assuring you they've understood. In some situations, there are these self absorbed people who acts like they know everything. Also, another type of a bad listener is someone who never listens to any one's opinion or let them share their personal stories. Great. Just great.

Once, I had a pretty bad experience with a friend. We both went to different schools so we had a bunch of things to catch up with. As we started a conversation, she talked about her new, cool life and some of her passions. It was interesting; I can tell you. But as she started going farther off topic, I lost hope in sharing mine. Even though she would pause for a bit, I just couldn't barge in. She picked up too much momentum; the mood was too good and I knew she was having a good time.

Unintentionally, she made a point that she's not interested with my own stories, although it has never been said. I actually never had a chance to say what I felt that day. My laughter and my full attention was what she wanted from me. Realizing this, I guess she just made that conversation because she needs someone who would take interest in her. Obviously, that someone was me.

Some people engage in this kind of behaviour because: one, they aren't interested in the topic. I guess they have better things to think about rather than listening or interacting with anyone. Or maybe their minds are just too crowded to process the words. They might be in the middle of a predicament; you might never know. Or two, they have tons of thoughts to share that they were not aware of their misbehaviour. But from what I've learned, a conversation should be working both ways: listening and talking. If one doesn't exist, it wouldn't be spontaneous. So, as a tentative listener, if you fall on the second kind, I suggest go talk to a wall. I bet you can learn something from it.

Public Washrooms

Public Washrooms

I absolutely hate public washrooms that are dirty and disgusting. I cannot understand why people cannot just pull the lever down to flush the toilet after they finished taking a crap like no one wants to see your poop in the toilet! I also cannot understand why the people who are using the washrooms feel the need to throw toilet paper all around the washrooms. I think the worst part of public washrooms the men's of course is the amount of pee around the urinals I don't know if they're blind and can't  see what they hitting or what.

I've encountered this behavior multiple times, Almost every time I go to a public washroom. Most recent time being at Silver City by Polo Park. I had just bought a drink and drank about a quarter of it and had too go pee so I went in to the washroom and all you smell like a fishy old socks smell it was dirty. Then I was walking to the stall and there is just wet paper towels all over the floor and soap all over the counter it was sick! Anyways I got to the stall and all you and the floor is all wet like really! I did my business and went too wash my hands, It's surprising how many people actually don't wash there hands. When I got out of there I was so relieved I can finally start breathing again.

I would not approach anyone just because there probably not the only person being disgusting and It is not my job to approach people and tell them to wash there hands don't throw toilet paper and other things. I believe a lot of people mess around with the washrooms because they think just because it is not their washroom they can do what ever they want and throw toilet paper around and not flush the toilet. Maybe they are just dirty people or don't care about anyone else.

I have been trying to think of ways you can get people to actually keep the washroom clean or at least presentable. I know janitors and stuff that is there job to clean stuff but they can't be in there all the time and people should have some manners to not throw papers towels anywhere they want or pee on the floor and not flush toilets but the only way you cant keep it presentable at all times is if people don't do things  like what I said.

Judging A Book By It's Cover

Have you ever judged someone? If you have you are reading the right post, because after you read this you'll think twice before judging someone again! There are many people in this world who don't think before they speak. Everyone rushes through things once in awhile. The most common mistake made is when a person judges others for who they are. I have seen this happen many times. There are groups of kids just standing and fooling around with their friends and when someone who catches their eye passes by, they immediately start talking about them. Seriously, why don't people mind their own business? Don't judge someone when you haven't gotten the chance to know them.

Once I went shopping with my mom, which was recent, i saw a group of people that looked slightly older than me. They were pointing and whispering at a person and they eventually started laughing. The person noticed this and looked really uncomfortable. The whole time I was watching this, I couldn't see any flash of recognition in their face for the group of people. The only thought in my head was that, why would anyone make assumptions of someone they don't even know! People can also be judged by their appearance. For example, a person can be wearing old clothes and look poor but they can turn out to be the richest person in the world. Some people just don't know that they shouldn't stick their nose in other people's lives.

When it comes to judging people, I am absolutely against it, and if I see anyone else doing this, I will address them directly. One day, I was out with my brother and he did the exact same thing. We were at the park and someone from his school was there. He started telling me that this person is really poor and he doesn't have enough money to afford new clothes. I was really shocked that he would say something like that. So I did what I would naturally do, I told him off and I gave him a lecture on why you shouldn't judge people you don't know, and how bad it is because it may hurt their feelings. I asked him if he had ever talked to that person before. Guess what he said, he said no! So I asked him, " How would you feel if someone you don't know and haven't even talked to once in your life started to judge you just by your appearance?" After that day, my brother learned his lesson and hasn't judged anyone.

I don't get why people judge others. Especially people they haven't talked to before. I think that people who judge others are insecure. Maybe the person judging is unaware that they are doing something wrong. People might or might not know how the person that is being judged feels. Or maybe the person who is judging has been judged before and want others to know how they felt. I don't know exactly what the reason is for why people judge others, it could be anything. But nobody should judge anyone because it can hurt the person being judged really badly, so badly that they could even consider committing suicide.

I have seen many people that judge others but not everyone is the same. Some people don't judge others. You don't get anything out of it except hurting the other person's feelings, so what will you gain from it? If you judge others and are reading this, hopefully after reading my long rant you will agree with me that there is no point in judging others. If not, then it's alright not everyone has the same thinking. In conclusion, i would just hope that you will think about what you're saying about others through from now on.
